Sponges
Pro Tip: When grouting, rinse your sponge frequently in a clean bucket of water and wring it out until it is only damp, as an overly wet sponge will weaken and wash away your grout.
Key features to look for when choosing a sponge:
- Density and Cell Structure: The best grout sponges are hydrophilic (water-loving). They hold significantly more water and rinse out cleaner and easier. Professional, heavy-duty sponge with premium density work especially well for removing excess grout.
- Corners: Sponges with Rounded Corners prevent digging out or marring grout. Square corners are great for maximum performance when working with narrow grout lines and tight corners.
- Size and Thickness: A thicker, larger sponge provides more surface area to work with, covers more ground, and holds enough water to wipe larger tile sections without constant rinsing.
